The Sal J. Prezioso Mountain Lakes Park is located in North Salem and a short drive from New Cannan/Wilton/Ridgefield. . This park does have the highest peak in Westchester County! Don't get too excited though, its only 982 feet.
I have a feeling this park is a bit of an unused gem. The trails were wide and well maintained, easy enough for any age group, and stunning landscape all around. One outlook had a beautiful view of Waccabuc Lake. It is dog approved!
Once again, this isn't a huge hike but its a nice day out for a walk in the woods. There is a summer camp at the park as well as yurts and cabins for over night camping. For information check out the website:
